Gault&Millau's review 2025

In Waldbronn near Karlsruhe, Schwitzer's Gourmet Restaurant has established itself as an address for gourmets. The stylishly renovated restaurant offers space for 15 guests and an open kitchen. Cédric Schwitzer interprets French cuisine in a modern and creative way, served in four- or six-course menus, also in vegetarian variants. Dishes such as "Riesling, white cabbage, pork skin" or confit tomatoes show craftsmanship, experimental approaches and attention to detail. Nevertheless, the excellent quality of the products is occasionally hidden behind the elaborate presentation. Black Angus captivated in taste and was excellent in texture and aroma definition. Some creations, on the other hand, could benefit from a clearer focus on aromas. The wine accompaniment is particularly successful, with an excellent selection that perfectly supports enjoyment. The service also contributes to the positive overall impression and ensures an all-round harmonious experience.
