Alexander Ruhland is in the kitchen of this family-run country inn near Memmingen as you could wish for: In the fourth generation, after years of apprenticeship and travel with industry giants such as Karl Ederer, Hans Haas or Vincent Klink, he cooks both rock-solid Allgäu regional cuisine and an ambitious gourmet menu at a fair price - colourful, intense, with well-filled plates, but still carefully arranged. Whether fried, truffled scallops or perfectly cooked, tender and yet firm saddle of venison - what Simone Ruhland serves leaves satisfied faces. And if you are under thirty, you only pay 75 euros for the "Twenü" with three courses, amuse and drinks.
