Gault&Millau's review 2025

Trompe-l'oeil paintings adorn the walls of the restaurant in the historic Ketschauer Hof, which is decorated entirely in black, white and gold, separated from the gourmet restaurant L.A. Jordan only by a beautiful terrace and well worth a visit in its own right. The bistro menu lists classics such as oysters, beef tartare and sweetbreads. We recommend the duck liver "Forêt-Noire" with cherry and chocolate as well as the monkfish à la Basquaise with chorizo, green asparagus and a fluffy pimiento foam with orange polenta. A surprise menu with three to five courses is available in addition to a good à la carte selection, only for vegetarians it gets a bit tight. The wine selection, on the other hand – how could it be otherwise at the Bassermann-Jordan winery – is brilliantly and hospitably calculated.
