Gault&Millau's review 2025

The Atable in the Amtshaus, in the old town of Freinsheim, is a charming restaurant in the middle of the historic city wall. Accessible via an inner courtyard with terrace, it offers a stylish ambience with a white cross vault. The culinary journey begins with gently cooked chicken breast, roasted char fillet and wild prawns with asparagus flan. The roasted saddle of lamb with artichokes and olive-polenta slices is a highlight of the menu. Another highlight is, we repeat ourselves at this point, the cheese selection from the affineur Tourrette from Strasbourg. The dessert, a pavé of white Valrhona chocolate with lime, rhubarb compote and raspberry sorbet, rounds off the menu perfectly. A comprehensive wine list with treasures from the Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and Alsace completes the offer. Hostess and sommelier Sybille Bultmann provides the perfect wine accompaniment, which makes a visit to the Atable a special experience.
