Gault&Millau's review 2025

Volker Hupfer serves regional dishes with the best ingredients, almost exclusively from the region, from the classic snack menu to sophisticated game dishes - and of course Black Forest cake (but one of the few really good ones). All this in the third generation, but not at all traditional, but in a modern, airy, light atmosphere in excellent architecture on a quiet high plateau above the thousand-metre mark. A place of enjoyment to feel good with well-crafted cuisine without frills, but with consistently sustainable standards that you can taste.
