Gault&Millau's review 2025

This is where Berlin's gastronomic scene eats and drinks when it is not at the stove itself. In the most unpretentious setting you can imagine: a tube-like restaurant around the corner from Ku'damm, visually a Chinese restaurant like any other. But then: The kitchen specialises in traditional dishes from Sichuan, Jiangsu and Shanghai and thus offers both lemony mala spiciness (Sichuan) and emphatically mild alternatives – when ordering together, this ideally results in a yin and yang at the table, sharing the food is absolutely desired. Even in European Asian food common sense, rather unusual things such as offal (tripe, liver, kidneys) come to the table in a large selection. But even greater is the range of Rieslings, which are knowledgeably recommended to the menu in an enormous depth of vintage, especially from the Moselle. Do you prefer it red? The Pinot Noirs from Fürst, Becker or Ziereisen compete with the top French addresses for the best choice of vintage. All in all: a Chinese restaurant that is actually a wine bar. And a wonderful combination of two worlds that complement each other perfectly.
