Gault&Millau's review 2025

Jøwåy in Nuremberg's Old Town is a stylish mix of wine bar and brasserie fine dining. In the Nordic-cool ambience with turquoise sofas, relaxed brasserie flair meets culinary finesse. The menu? Small but nice: six changing dishes, plus a few signature dishes such as scallops or wonderful Kaiserschmarrn. From two courses (actually à la carte) you are there, and the creations - such as langoustine with ponzu sauce or buttery tender short rib - are real highlights for the palate and the eye. The whole thing is accompanied by a top wine selection with a focus on Franconia. A place that is casual, chic and damn good.
