France is not far from Baden-Baden. And at Sophie & Stéphane Bernhard, you think you're already dining on the other side of the Rhine; as a courtesy, the menu lists the dishes in German first. But that's it for reminiscences of the guest country. In the spacious winter garden on the ground floor of the "Stahlbad" and the bright rooms on the first floor of the neo-Renaissance building, a "Cuisine du Cœur" is served, which even attracts numerous French people across the border – fortunately also at lunchtime from Tuesday to Saturday with the full program up to the menu gourmet with up to seven courses. Stéphane Bernhard from Alsatian, a member of the Collège Culinaire de France, focuses entirely on the best, largely regional product quality. In addition, there are selected products from France – wild-caught from Breton fishermen, pigeons from Theo Kieffer, green asparagus and truffles from Provence. He refines them with sophisticated craftsmanship into classic dishes such as homemade foie gras de canard or peeled grilled lobster tail with pointed cabbage and candied ginger in a lobster velouté à l'Orange: fabulous! Of course, the cheese comes from Maître Antony in Alsace, and the dessert is in no way inferior to the menu. Bienvenue en France!
