Gault&Millau's review 2025

In the middle of Ottensen at Spritzenplatz lies a small, fine, feel-good place in blue-grey, almost a living room: the Petit Amour. For almost a decade, Boris Kaspik has cooked French-modern cooking here, and after a year of closure, Eike Iken is now at the stove, who is holding his own here with his partner Monique Lingg. Iken, most recently sous chef at the Hanoverian Votum, brings Nordic influences to classic French cuisine and combines both with sensitivity and creativity to make an independent statement, often using regional ingredients - Lars Odefey's poultry farm in Uelzen, for example, regularly delivers from the small to the large Hanseatic city. The menu offers six courses, and the kitchen greets you three times in advance, for example with deboned oysters under sea salt foam or pear sorbet with spicy watercress gel. And so it goes on. The grilled green asparagus with hazelnut variations and whipped goat's cream cheese are very good, the beef onglet with morels is classic pink. Good desserts, friendly service.
