Palatinate cuisine with an Italian twist is served by Fabio Danuzetti in the traditional Krone – or should we say Italian cuisine with a Palatinate touch? Be that as it may, whether it's baked Sardinian scallops with Palatinate stew and Alba truffles, locally hunted venison in thyme-lime butter or rump steak from Palatinate Chianina beef: it becomes clear that the combination of the two epicurean destinations works perfectly. A menu can be freely put together from the large à la carte offer, the service is cordial, and the wine list tends more towards the Palatinate than Italy. Caution is only advised for former regulars: the Krone only has the photos on the wall in common with the old classic address for pig's stomach to Helmut Kohl's taste.
