Gault&Millau's review 2025

From the outside, the Hotel Cap Polonio looks like one of the usual hospitable houses in Pinneberg. Amazingly, a three-screw luxury fast steamer from Hamburg in the 1920s is stranded here directly at the city park and has distributed its first-class interior furnishings throughout the house. This gives the restaurant, the six salons and the large ballroom style and dignified class. Meals are served at the Rolin, named after one of the steamboat captains, and Marc Ostermann cooks classic French, upscale bistro cuisine from regional products such as steak tartare with Calvados and capers, wild-caught zander roasted on the skin with Traminer creamy cabbage and grapes, or an Oldenburg duck for two with a breast and a leg walk. A large model of the steamer can be admired in the dining room, and Captain Rolin watches over everything from the picture frame to make sure everything is in order. It has!
