Gault&Millau's review 2025

In addition to the Sparkling Bistro and the Tschecherl, Munich's best and certainly the most authentic Japanese restaurant shines in the aging Amalienpassage. This is all the more surprising because the good spirit does not come from Kyoto or Tokyo, but is merely a "pure" Munich Japanologist named Alexander Reinelt. Before visiting this exceptional restaurant, the study of the website is highly recommended to the inclined reader of the Sansaro website. Because sushi here is not cold fish on cold rice, but a holistic cultural experience, of course based on the best basic ingredients. The cleverly composed and moderately priced sake tasting is also highly recommended, which ideally prepares the palate for the very clear Sansaro cuisine. Sashimi offers three Moriawase variations, "Akebono" refers to dawn and consists of three different types of fish. "Shinonome" is the literal translation of "clouds in the east", i.e. the clouds that move across the eastern sky at dawn. Here, five types of fish are selected for the sashimi by the chefs and "tenmei" refers to the day when the sky becomes bright, also at dawn and is the largest of the sashimi moriawase with seven types of fish.
