Gault&Millau's review 2025

The Ebert family invites you to feel good on the Schlossanger Alp - in every respect. The relaxed mountain hotel - it is difficult to talk about an alp in view of the size of the building on the small mountain plateau below Falkenstein Castle (see Pavo), which will be constantly modernized and expanded in 2024/25, even if the cosiness that the ensemble radiates could not be more homely. The place is buzzing 365 days a year, in summer the terrace is also fully occupied, and Barbara Schlachter-Ebert and son Bastian, who has returned to the home kitchen as co-chef after years of apprenticeship and travel with Hans Haas or Nils Henkel, have their hands full. This time, we would like to forgive one or the other inaccuracy that led to the devaluation last season, because the offer from venison tataki to turbot roasted on the skin to veal cheeks and sweetbreads with spicy vadouvan jus is of really good quality overall, and when thoroughbred host Bernd Ebert recommends a good wine from the well-stocked cellar, the world high above Pfronten is absolutely fine.
