The St. Urbanstube is the heart of the Deidesheimer Hof. Above the vaulted cellar of the gourmet restaurant, the trained team serves in the historic guest room as well as in the panelled parlour, whose photo gallery shows Helmut Kohl with Gorbachev, Reagan and other greats of their time at the former chancellor's favourite place. Uncomplicated, neatly made Palatinate cuisine such as a carpaccio of pig's stomach or saddle of lamb with a spicy herb crust in a creamy sauce, plus some traditional German classics. There are long waiting times for a table around St. Martin's Day, when the traditional whole goose is served. In addition, there are many seasonal menus. In summer, a beautiful terrace in front of the Deidesheim market fountain - and of course a large selection of Palatinate wines.
